ALLES GUTE ZUM GEBURTSTAG, FRIEDRICH~! 301 years since he was born >u<

So, yeah, I was really supposed to get my new tabletpen today (I haven't had one since late November or something - I lost it), and was originally going to draw his birthdaypresent with that! Is the Norwegian postal system that predictable? Of course not - I'll be getting it on Monday instead. Hopefully.

But I wasn't going to let that stop me, no (this is Old Fritz we're talking about) so I used a touchpad (I never use that for drawing - ever), dA muro (never use that either, I was persuaded somehow into doing so this time) and the REST OF MY FREAKIN' DAY and got started. To put it simply, this turned out WAY better than expected.

So, yeah, more about the drawing; His wings are taken from the Prussian Eagle and partly represent his close ties to Prussia and how he basically had the role of being Prussia at his time, and partly represent the sad but very understandable fact that he's now dead (like angelwings). To take that further out, the fact that his "angelwings" are black can also mean that although he pleased and protected his own people like no other king, he's still not quite an angel because he had to do so by attacking others. I drew him playing the flute because it's his birthday and he liked playing the flute very, very much. His hair is in Hetalia-style, because..... because Hetalia, that's why. And his wigs are annoying and senseless in their gravity and such. So Hetalia it is.

Strangely enough, the part of this that I think I'm most happy about is what I spent he least time drawing - the candles. I dunno, I just really like how they turned out. <D

So, about .... maybe 7-8 hours or so, on a touchpad, made on deviantART muro =u=

perhaps he would have been a worthy rival to Napoleon...
